REVIEW ON THE SERVICES OF HENOUTEX INTERNATIONAL/ EDITOR COMMUNICATIONS UYO

Editor Communications ( blue)
Henoutex (the cream colored building)

I am really angry guys, really mightily pissed off right now. You would remember that i complained about the blackberry phone having issues after almost 21 days here. After leaving the phone to be repaired against what i felt was right, i went there today since it was more than 2 weeks since i left it and i had not heard anything from them. And you would not have imagined the stupid comments that was made. Honestly majority of Nigerian companies lack customer service skills. They just feel that they can do and undo. I was really mad today. I think i should let you know what happened from the very beginning.

On 30/6/14 (a day after my phone and laptop was stolen) i decided to get a blackberry phone because i didn't like the way the mails used to drop on the other tecno phone that was stolen. I went there originally to buy blackberry Z10 but the difference between the Lagos price was too much for me so i decided to get a curve 4 but when the lady was testing it the phone refused to start and i got skeptical. She said she needed to charge it but it still refused to start after almost 15 minutes so i asked for the torch 3 since it was the same price. I noticed that the torch 3 didn't have a memory card (that should have been a warning for me but i felt that blackberry had stopped including memory cards in their phones). Anyway as i had a memory card from the previous blackberry i owned so i was not bothered.

When i got to work and was charging the phone i noticed that the edges were a bit rough and i started thinking. I was asking myself if the phone was refurbished and they sold it to me as new but i felt they wouldn't do such a thing. So i didn't think about it again (that should have been a second warning sign to me)

PROS: As you can imagine there are no pros. Nothing they did impressed me.

CONS: 1. The staff there are seriously a set of stupid people that have no clue the effect of their actions. When i wanted to get the phone the guys at the Henoutex place had no problem in getting the phone from the Editor communications place when they found out they didn't have the phone but when there was a problem everybody was asking me to go up and down.

2. The staff lack the know how on how to handle a customer. When i went the first time to complain they acted like i was disturbing them but when i started raising my voice they were acting like i was a nuisance. Instead of apologising that they had sold a substandard phone to me they were arguing with me and saying all sorts. One said it was not his job to help me with my complaints and i should come another day to see the person in charge.

3. They are not trustworthy. I didn't buy the idea of them repairing my phone but i decided to give them a benefit of doubt. As of today (16 days after i dropped it) i can confidently tell you that the phone is still in their office here in Akwa Ibom. They never made an attempt to send it anywhere. How do i know? When i asked for the phone and why it has not been returned to me, the lady (a youth corp member) said that she does not know how long the repair would take, that she is not a technician. Then she now said that they normally don't send only one phone for repair because of the cost of courier then changed it to because they don't want anybody's phone to go missing. When i now asked her 'that means the phone is still in uyo' she tried to explain that it was not. A friend who was with me now asked her when would the phone likely be repaired she said she didn't know. Then started with the story of how she had to repair her 60000naira (375USD) phone (like she can afford to buy a phone that amount) and it took them 2 months to return it. The inconsistency from her was amazing. Someone who earlier claimed my phone was not in uyo, when i asked that it be returned said i should come tomorrow (like i am a jobless person). And when i asked to speak to the owner or manager, she said they had traveled....Right!!!

4. The whole attitude of the staff stinks. Imagine when i said 'that since i have done everything to try and resolve it, that when i start my trouble no one would question me' she said 'what would you do, bring police?'. Is that the right comment for a staff member to say? And when i said that Slot phones would never have treated me the way they have done that by now i would have received a new phone or it would have been repaired, she said that they have a staff member working in Slot phones (what does that mean? they are sending spies to Slot Phones?) and that Slot phones sells Dubai phones. I honestly don't understand the meaning of that. I told her that even if they sell Dubai phones, the phones were working well. Heck my curve 2 which i bought from Slot phones in Uyo lasted for 2 years before i had to change it.

The whole issue reeks of how the wrong staff can crash your business. I am positive that if i had seen the owner or manager of both the establishments they would have tried to resolve my issue. I was not asking for my money back, i wanted either another phone even if it was less in the amount i paid (but was still able to carry out the functions i needed) or try to repair the phone in a short amount of time. Telling me you don't know when the phone would be repaired when you have not sent it for repair is outrageous. And waiting for other people's phones to be damaged within your one year warranty speaks volume about the quality of phones that is sold in that establishment.

MY VERDICT: You all know what my verdict would be. Unfortunately i have totally lost confidence in the company and advice anyone that wants to get a phone to check any other shop. However if you want to take a chance you can try them just be prepared in case anything goes wrong. My mistake was getting a phone from Akwa Ibom but i guess after getting some cheap nokia phones from the Henoutex branch i believed that they were trust worthy.

I was going to put up the picture of my receipt but i think i would get the pictures of the shops instead so that everybody can see how the shop is and where they are located in case you ever go there by mistake. I expect that if this review gets to them i should be getting some calls. But right now i have decided my best revenge is to leave the phone with them. Why? Because as long as the phone is with them, there is going to be a hole in their purse. Revenge is best enjoyed when God takes care of it. My friend said i should leave it for them to repair but there is no point. It is of no use to me anymore.

Anyway here are the addresses of the shops: 1 Wellington bassey way, uyo and 5 wellington bassey way, uyo, Akwa Ibom.

Thanks for stopping by. I have to go now and relax.

Luv ya,
Petite Diva

  5. So it is no longer a secret that customer service in Nigeria sucks..they have no training and the nonchalant attitude is the one that kills me more. Like you said it's like being robbed again. Sorry you hear.
