SUPERHEROES

Yay!!!! It is super heroes time. I am such a lover of films that are based on superheroes from comic books. Some times i wish i could kick ass (pardon my french...) like the female heroes.

My favorite superhero is Superman. I love that he is sweet and strong. I especially love that even though he kicks ass when Lois Lane is up in his front, he melts like butter. I am a bit, no scratch that, i am a lot like Lois Lane. So do you think that i need a guy like Clark, who won't give me a mega size headache and melt like butter in my hands.....hmmmm, just thinking.

Let's check out some of the pictures of superheroes that i have (unfortunately, i don't have any of superman or spiderman....*sadface):

Wolverine.....Fierce, Rough and soooo loveable

Incredible Hulk....so much power

Phoenix....The gal is hawt

Need i say more....he came to die for the world. Now that is beyond super....

Childhood memories flooding in......

You know it.....It is voltron, defender of the universe. By the way, i am the princess lion...shhhhh, don't tell anybody.

Fierce Diva, STORM, to command the elements like that. Now if i had such powers, what would i do with it? Hmmmmmm

Sexy, sexy, sexy Thor! Owwww,i like, i like. Can i please have some thor? Pleassssseeeee

All the Wonderwomen in the house, raise your right hands.

There it is again, childhood memories are rolling in. I actually have a snippet/video of the intro of voltron on my phone but i don't know how to upload videos on the blog. Oh well, i guess i need to find out how to do so.

I know i said i would upload the pictures of some military guys but i have not been able to get their permission to do so i would just upload 2 military wedding pictures that i was able to steal. Hope you love them. I can't seem to identify what arm of the armed forces the men are in. I think the latter is in air force but what of the former?

That is all folks. I am a bit excited tonight guys 'cos i have 9 days before my leave starts......Yay! Super Yay!

Love ya,
Petite Diva.

DEDICATED TO A FIERCE FEMALE………FATUM ONHEROWN

I had wanted to write this piece a long time ago but I kept getting distracted. By what, you might ask. Like I said in my previous post, I have decided to revert to my non-relaxed hair so I have been researching on what to use to grow healthy hair, when to use them, what not to put or do to my hair and what to do to make it grow. I have watched so many you tube videos, seen some good stuff and seen some crap too. I have started buying a lot of junk aka good stuff for my hair, I really hope I don’t go overboard with it.

Also I have started having a strong urge to bake but I can’t bake yet as I am ‘gas ovenless’. However that has not stopped me from watching some videos on the net. I just love watching them bake and remembering all the times I used to bake and sell cakes in school. It is funny, I started baking when I failed my jamb exam and had to do it again and now it is a great love of mine. Talk about life throwing you lemons and you turning it to lemonades (Does anyone know how to make lemonade? I am gonna check youtube….*grins)

Anyways back to my fierce friend, a true wonderwoman, Fatum onherown (that is not her real name). Fatum and I attended Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ojo for a whooole 6 years. The unique thing about us is that we are kinda of the same physical build though she definitely weighs more than I do and she has a great skin color and hair to die for.

After school, we lost contact until I saw her at a pharmacy when I was undergoing my internship training. I immediately recognized her and remembered her name and folks, after 6 years for me to recognize you and remember your name that is an earth scattering event. I am soooooo terrible with names, I am better with faces but it takes a while before I can place where I met the person. I don’t know if it is my memory or me and my sometimes ‘fake snobbish’ attitude. However it was easy for me to remember because she was part of the people i flowed with in school.

Anyways I also saw that she had a cute baby. What surprised me about her was that she said ‘you actually became a pharmacist’. She remembered that I had said that I wanted to be a pharmacist. I was so touched that she remembered. She eventually left the pharmacy and we reconnected on facebook and twitter.

My friend is a fighter. She has beaten a lot of odds in this life. She is a sickle cell anaemia patient and she continues to amaze me with her strength. She has so much thrown her way with her SCA and the death of her sister and so much more and she is a wonderful survivor. She has a blog and when I read her stories, I am in awe of her strength. I feel so motivated by her life and the way she is handling all that life has thrown her way. I look at my life and I wonder why I act the way I do. I have had my challenges but compared to hers, mine seem like child’s play.

She is a firm reader of my blog, checking up on it even when I don’t broadcast about a new post, she leaves comments and supports me. She is my personal blog/writing critic. I would like to talk more about her life but I think it is best for you guys to check out her blog for yourself. I really hope you guys are super inspired by her life. You would also see cute pictures of her daughter (that I am trying to steal….shhhhh, don’t tell her that o).

So here is her blog address http://onceuponafatum.blogspot.com. She absolutely writes so much better than I do, so if you love reading my blog (which a lot of you say you do) then you would love hers.

Fatima, you are a blessing to this world and I am so glad that I know you. You would live to achieve your dreams. You would inspire loads of people. No matter what comes your way I know that you are stronger than it, heck you are a NAVY GIRL and you know we 'navy girls' are fierce and fab too…..lol. I love you to bits and you still owe me a tour of Egypt (wait o! I hope you know that you have to come back whenever I am doing my wedding. I am officially telling you that you would be one of my bridesmaids……*winks). Remain blessed girl.

That is all for now folks (I have to go back to searching for the best protein treatment mixture for afro hair. Can you imagine that I have bought egg mayonnaise, hair mayonnaise, olive oil, amla oil and now,i want to make coconut oil for my hair? (HAIR! HAIR!! YOU MUST GROW O!)….lol

Luv ya guys,
Petite Diva.

SETTING GOALS AND ACHIEVING THEM

Hey guys, lately I have been thinking of undergoing a life changing or should I say hair changing activity. I am trying to attain a full head of non relaxed hair for the next 2 years or till my wedding day whichever comes first.

As I was mapping out the ways I would achieve my goal, it suddenly dawned on me that I have not set any goals for myself in the past 3 years or more. I have just been floating. I have not achieved anything recently. Okay, so maybe I bought a TV and DVD but I should have gotten it a long time ago considering how much I am been paid.

I now fully understand the statement that ‘ he who fails to plan, plans to fail’. I have seriously failed to plan. A friend of mine recently travelled to the US to spend her leave and I felt bad for myself. Why? You might ask, I remembered that late last year/early this year I told someone that I would love to travel to Dubai for at least 7 days during my leave. And I don’t think I can even afford the visa to go.

And what even sucks the more is that the amount of money that has passed through my hands (in terms of my salary) since I was employed at my present position (I don’t even want to think of the amount I received as a corps member) is enough to go to dubai twice over (that means I could pay for 2 trips to dubai) and still have a lot to splurge on.

I don’t know when I lapsed into this mediocrity lifestyle. It is not me! I need to get back on the champion's bandwagon and plan for my future, the future of my husband and kids. I know that God is in control of my future and with his help I won’t screw things up. I would see every opportunity he puts in my way and take full advantage of it no matter what aspects of my life it shows up in.

So till I find my way back, I would start with baby steps. Baby steps? Well I talked about my hair challenge/goals, I intend to go full out on that and then I want to work on my skin. I want to tone down the amount of makeup I use. Actually it should be the extent or degree of makeup I apply because I don’t use that much. I want to apply nude makeup most of the time and to do that my skin has got to be fabulous.

Hopefully I won’t be lazy about achieving my goals and actually make it. And maybe I can add more goals and actually achieve them.

Well, that is all folks. Hope you enjoyed this piece. Gotta run.

Luv ya,
Petite Diva.

LOVE CAN GROW AND LOVE CAN DIE……MY REVIEW

I am so sorry guys, I know I said I would talk about my last post the next day but I didn’t. I have been having some issues and most of them were not caused by me. At first my internet service was nonexistent, then I was just not in the mood to write (is that my fault or not? still thinking..lol) and later on, almighty PHCN decided to put me in darkness for a while. Anyhow, anyhoo I am back.

So I would start with what I liked about the piece then move on to the things I don’t agree with in our little story.

GOOD
: I like the moral of the story. So many couples are enduring their marriages because of problems caused by nobody else but themselves. They are so stuck in a rut that they forget why they fell in love with each other in the first place.

I am not saying that we should do all the things you used to do before, we all grow and mature so things can’t always be the same. But learn to live life a little. Do something fun together, learn to talk things out instead of acting up. It may not be easy but it is one step at a time (It reminds me of a song in a kiddies film….. ‘one step at a time(X2), I am climbing the mountain, one step at a time….*singing).

Every marriage or relationship is different but the basic rule is to work together with God, never ever forget God to build a happy home. I personally don’t like clubs, there are loud, the air is filled with nicotine smoke and alcohol……(ewwwww) and people act all crazy and was not particularly pleased with the club scenario/scene but it is what the couple love. I repeat do what you guys love. Have that 'me and my spouse/partner' time…no friends, no kids, no mamas or papas just you guys. Take a day off, go to the beach, go to amusement parks, goof around, act like kids, eat candy floss (if you are diabetic, please don’t try that), go out to a cool restaurant and have dinner, anything! just do something fun.

I am sure a lot of married guys and Nigerians would say ‘she has started with her foreign attitude’ but just try it. You have nothing to lose.

I also liked the fact that the husband of Nancy gave her his atm card to use to withdraw money, not a lot of men can do that. And I absolutely love the way she introduced her husband as her 'B to the O O', cuteness at its peak especially after a long time together. Most married couples at that period are like flat mates in the house.

BAD: I have already mentioned that I am not a fan of clubs so that part is a no no to me. Then dragging a guy you barely know to dance with you and you are married, hmmmm I don’t think I can do that. I am principled or should I say funny like that.

Another part I was not down with was inviting a guy you just met that day to your daughter’s birthday? Like really? But I guess since he is a senior banking officer at GTB, they figured his head must be screwed on right.

In all it was a good piece, I loved it (heck I typed all that for hours from my blackberry). I hope you loved today’s piece. Holla at your girl anytime, leave comments or simply follow my blog.

Till next time (hopefully it would be soon), have a lovely week ahead.

Kisses,
Petite Diva
