RAMBLINGS OF A DIVA....

Hi guys, how are you doing? The last couple of days has been out of my control. I actually wanted to name this post 'orishirishi' (assorted) but I decided to make it another series of ramblings of a diva.
Super woman Ernie.....
On the 2nd of November was the birthday of a CEO, blogger, student, wife and all round super woman....Ernie of everydaytibs.blogspot.com (Yay! I got it...) And to celebrate her birthday some of her readers went to heritage orphanage to visit and donate to the kids. How super dope is that? If you read my blog regularly you would have seen me yap a lot about her. She is simply extraordinary. Happy belated birthday girl....

RAMBLINGS OF A DIVA……..

Hey guys, how are you doing? Yesterday was the first time in a long time that I didn’t pick up my computer to surf the net even though there was light and I had internet data. I felt so lethargic and uninspired yesterday. I was tilting towards being sad so I just shut down everything and glued my eyes to the television. I watched some Disney Junior programs and then some of Nickelodeon’s Sam and cat episodes and then i started flipping through channels before sleeping. I am better today, Thank God. I think it is all these raging hormones in my body....*thelifeofafemale*

I heard that Big Brother Africa would soon start. Good for them, as for me I no dey watch am (I don’t watch it). Apart from the first episode which I watched the weekly high lights (when I was in 100 level), I have not followed the program since. I hear about all the antics but to sit down and watch it, no way. I am not interested but you cannot begin to imagine the amount of people that are really in love with the program. I heard that this year those on the 5000 naira bouquet of DSTV and upwards can watch it. Previously it was only those on the 11500 naira who could watch it. So for all you Big brother Africa lovers hurry up and pay for your subscription. Fortunately for me, I don’t have DSTV. I have GOTV and that is just perfect for me.....hehe.

DIVA’S RAMBLINGS

Hey guys, I think I am back to my perky self today but all of a sudden I developed a headache today. All the interns switched units and I got a fresh set of interns so I did a lot of talking so maybe that is why I have this headache. Oh well, that is why I am being paid teaching allowance.

I got called ‘Diva’ by a doctor today. I have been called diva by another doctor at work before but he is a friend and on my bbm list. This person is someone who is much older than me and attends my church but i am not close to him. Any how, he had called me that before and I thought it was a fluke then he said it again today and I am like ‘what? How did he know?’. I think if he calls me that again I would have to ask how he knew that I was the flyest petite diva on this planet. It feels odd when I am called by my alias/nickname in the hospital because I feel shy. Then I get happy and feel cool…..lol

DIVA’S RAMBLINGS FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL…..

Hey guys, I know I have been a bit erratic in posting articles this month but y’all know what I have been up to lately. Anyway I am back for a while but I would soon be missing in action again. I would soon embark on my annual leave and I can’t wait.

As you know, US decided in their mind that I am not worthy of stepping into their country (for now!) but that does not mean that I am not going somewhere. Even if it is to go to Ghana, or Lagos bar beach, I intend (by God’s Grace) to enjoy myself this leave period and oh, try to read too. I have to say a big thank you to all my peeps that were angry on my behalf about the whole visa issue. You guys are the bomb. I got some suggestions to go to places like Zanzibar, morocco and the likes. And I think they sound and look like wonderful places. I have seen pictures of Zanzibar, morocco and turkey and I think they are beautiful. I would research on how to go there and start a savings plan so that I can afford to go to these places.

I have officially decided started a travel fund, education fund and a wedding/marriage fund and home repairs or acquisition fund (or better yet savings account). I know right? I am strange but I think after seeing that saving for my travels worked, I think it would be better I spread my savings so that even when I want to do something I won’t use up all my money on one item. I hope my plan sounds like a cool one. Oh well, let’s see how it goes. It is all in God’s Hands.

So I read an article on a 100 days happy challenge in which people upload pictures of one item that makes them happy on instagram. Funny days before I read the article I was thinking of uploading a picture everyday of what I call my 'simple pleasure'. To me, these are things big or small that makes me smile or happy. It could be a drink or food or snack or clothes or item or bible verse. It could be anything. I think I would join the challenge in May, a brand new month, a brand new look on life.

I recently got a Ghanaian movie called ‘THE CONTRACT’. It has officially become my second best Ghanaian movie. I saw the movie while getting one of my simple pleasures in life (Pepsi), I didn’t even have enough money to get it but the guy in the supermarket told me I could take it and bring the money later since he knew me. I was actually interested in it because of the story line and the main actress, Yvonne Okoro. She was also in my best Ghanaian movie, THE GAME and I also follow her on instagram.

So I got home, put in my computer and didn’t regret watching the movie for over 2 hours. It was incredible. And Yvonne was the producer so you can imagine, the film was tight for an African film. She was able to get some companies to sponsor the movie. Even before I saw the credits which stated that i was right, it was obvious. The products of the companies/hotel were carefully interwoven with the story line. It was a very nice job. But, there is always a but with me. I noticed that the lead actress had the same hair and same nail polish colour for 9 months. How come na? That detail skipped their mind? For 9 months, the hair was still the same and intact? Naaaaaaa, I don’t buy that. However it was a cool movie.

I have to go now. Can you imagine? I am on call and the wire connection to the lights and fan are not working so I am presently in the dark. I don’t know what is going to happen right now. Oh well, the worst thing that can happen is that I would leave my intern and go home.

Thanks for stopping by.

Luv ya,
Petite Diva…..

DIVA'S RAMBLINGS

Hey guys, i really do hope i am able to upload this post today. I have so much to talk about. I recently came back from Lagos. I went for a friend's wedding in Abeokuta and while i am grateful that i am back in Uyo safely, i seriously had a problem with the fuel scarcity that made the journey horrible. Everywhere was hot and sandy and the passenger at my side made it worse. I don't know what people are carrying like that and why they think they are allowed to inconvenience others. And the woman kept holding a flyer and putting it to her chest and uttering some words. I don't know if she was saying some incantations or praying, that was really weird. And due to the fact that the driver was trying to conserve fuel, the air conditioner was not switched on (i don't know for other people in the bus but when i get to their head office in Lagos, i am going to make a formal complaint. I cannot pay for A/C bus and the air conditioner would not be switched on)

Due to the traffic caused by road repairs and long queues for fuel in stations that had fuel (and were acting arrogantly) the journey from Lagos to Abeokuta (when i was going for the wedding) was horrible. I don't think i want to pass through that again. But it wasn't all that bad, i was able to see 2 of my classmates and some of my schoolmates. Saw a cute medical student now a doctor that i thought was cute then and is still cute now, hey, before you guys start thinking of anything, he is taken (i think).

My birthday is on Tuesday and though i cancelled my morning plans due to the burial of my bishop, i still plan on going ahead with my evening plans. Hopefully everything would go on better than i planned and i would be able to show you guys how it went down. I expect to see a lot of comments from you guys o.

Right now i know someone who is not having things easy in her life rnow and i am just praying that God would give her the strength she needs to bear with all that is happening to her. Sometimes somethings just happen to show you that you can't really know a person and that change can only come to a person from God when he or she desires it and not when you want it to happen. We would keep praying for them.

For more pictures, follow me on instagram @princesspetitediva. I got myself an early birthday present last week shortly before i went home. Those on instagram know what it is. I got myself a Tecno S5 phone. It is an android phone and a touch screen. I didn't like it when i got it, felt it was too big and too technologically advanced for me. I am still trying to warm up to touchscreen phones or tablets but it is not easy. Typing on  them is very hard for me so i doubt i would be chatting much on my phone but i do like the fact that i can upload pictures straight from my phone to instagram or facebook. What i don't like is the fact that battery life is not for as long as i thought. It was a shock for me to discover that the battery does not last more than 6 hours. A friend suggested that i get a power pack, drat! All these phones sef! I seriously tire o.

So i am seriously loving a couple on instagram by id @adanna_david. The guy is german (with black blood) and the girl is nigerian. They are super cute and i love their dancing videos. The girl is a twin and their birthday was on the 2nd of march (march babies rock. If you don't know that then you must be living under a rock....lol). Anyways they just had their court wedding in germany yesterday (their traditional wedding was in december last year and the guy looked gooooooood in Igbo wear). They make you believe that true love is possible. Here is wishing them a wonderful fruitful and happy married life together and wishing Adanna and Adanma a happy birthday and many more blessed years ahead.

I have to go now. However before i go, i just want to wish my friend Busayo a happy married life and congratulate my friends Bisi Akinlonu and Shola Ewedairo on the birth of their lovely kids. Bisi's child is a march baby while Shola's girl is a february baby (almost made it to march).

Thanks for stopping by.

DIVA'S RAMBLINGS.....

Hey guys, it is another episode of my beloved Diva’s ramblings…..lol. It is a post where I talk about everything on my mind without a clearly defined topic.

So a couple of my friends recently got engaged or are preparing for their wedding, some recently gave birth and some are pregnant. So with all that is going on right now I was reminded that I am not where I thought I would be . I had a couple of bad days especially when my mum left, it took a whole lot of prayer, a small exercise of counting my blessings, eating junk food and watching movies to get me back to my preppy self. I am okay with my journey so far and I am appreciative of the vision that God has placed in me even if I am not there right now.

My mum recently got a phone that can whatsapp and after a load of ‘don’t subscribe to anything for me o’ and ‘what did you do to my phone’ and ‘I didn’t send you message o’, she is enjoying the whatsapp app and claims to be pinging when she is sending me a message…lol.

We just came back from a warning strike and are warming up for an indefinite one but I seriously doubt the strike would hold. After 3 days of total lock up, even some community pharmacies in Oyo were said to have participated in the strike from 8am -1pm (a first in Nigeria, private pharmacies and pharmacists don’t participate in strikes), I seriously doubt federal government wants a repeat of that. I was asked to come to the hospital during the strike and I refused. The A and E pharmacy was being run by the corp members and our 'green horn' interns and I was not going to set my ‘Cinderella sized feet’ on the hospital grounds during the strike. At least we were considerate in opening the pharmacies and making our interns work.

I have been sent links to 2 articles that a ‘supposed’ journalist (Sahfeeyah Musa) lounging sorry that should be living in United Arab Emirate wrote on the issues troubling the healthcare system. When I got the link to the first article I read the whole thing and partly wish I didn’t. The article was totally flawed and biased. I wished I didn’t because I lost 3 minutes of my time reading the article. So when the link to the second part of the article was sent to me, I said to myself ‘what more does she have to say?’.  And I was right, the second part was full of blunders. She was comparing the salaries of doctors to other health care professionals and decided that it was right to compare the salaries of doctors who are consultants to the salaries of entry level pharmacists like me and other healthcare professionals. When I read that part, I knew something was off only for me to read comments made by people and my feeling were justified. I decided to investigate further and found out that the salaries for the different specialties in medicine were different. And I am like hmmmm, I didn’t hear anybody say anything about that o. People keep comparing themselves to their counterparts in the U.S for more money but don’t talk about the different salaries they get. Here is the link to the second article, i am sure some of you would get a kick out of it. So by all means knock yourselves out....Click here.

Anyway why I said I partly wished I didn’t read her articles was because even though she was wrong in most of her points, she also said something that spurred me to research on a topic more. The issue of surgeon general has stirred a lot of trouble lately. One part was saying it was meant for doctors, another part said it could be headed by other healthcare professionals too. On conducting my research, I found out that there were two types. The one in the army and the one that was in charge of the public health service corps. The one in the army can be headed by anybody in the healthcare team (the present US army Surgeon general is a Nurse..... Go Nurses!) and the other one is headed by a physician who is totally knowledgeable in public health and is totally involved (not one that has been working in obstetrics and gynecology unit of a hospital and is chosen to head it because a set of people decide that he is valuable to them achieving their purpose of world domination.....*justkidding*). I also noticed that all the US surgeon general were also military and that most of them had either studied or worked as other healthcare professionals. If anybody doubts me, google is your friend. Do your own research.

I have not written extensively about the issue because I want to compare the duties of the proposed Nigerian Surgeon General and that of the US surgeon general. I totally love the ideals and duties of the Office of the US Surgeon General but something tells me and I am positive beyond any doubt that the proposed duties of the Nigerian Surgeon General is waaaaayyyyy different. However I don’t have any proof yet because as with most things concerning the NMA I can’t find it online yet. But there is someone who has offered to publish the proposed bill and I hope then I would be able to write my thoughts. Till then i would keep my positivity to myself.

I am on a personal challenge not to respond to people’s nonsense anymore. I tend to speak my mind whenever I detect a load of crap coming from somebody but I am trying to shut up more now. It is not easy but I am trying to count to 30 before I speak. How well have I fared since I started? Not so good I am afraid but I would keep on trying. However I feel that by not saying what I feel is the truth no matter what, I may be cheating myself and lying to the other person. Oh well, it is all about balance I guess.

Well I think that is all for now folks. I am on call and I have documentation to do. I used to write a detailed call report after my call but after the person in charge wrote something I didn’t think was necessary I have decided not to write anything anymore. Is that like shutting up or like being stubborn in another way?.....lol Anyway I ain’t writing it and I am sure he is going to be shocked. Whateeeevvvvveeeeerrrrrrrr.

Thanks for stopping by. And this is a shout out to the reader (i didn't get her name) that called me yesterday asking for advice on an acne medication that I used. Thanks for calling me. It made my day cos it means that people are actually reading my blog and enjoy what I write. It made me feel like a star. Anyway apparently CLEAREX 10 is scarce (I just discovered that too) and according to a professional colleague it has been scarce for a while so the alternative being used that seems to be quite effective is CLEARZIT. I haven’t used it yet but I trust my friend’s judgement and I am on the lookout for it too as my clearex has finished and I am getting some annoying hormonal zits on my face.

Gotta run…… Oh! I forgot to tell you guys. Yesterday was my induction anniversary. I was inducted into the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria 5 years ago yesterday. I am grateful because it has been God all the way…

DIVA’S RAMBLINGS

From a venting mode yesterday to a supernatural high today, whoop! Whoop!! Just came back from church and the message was on ‘Engaging confidence to triumphant living’. I remembered who I am and I am ready for anything now including annoying keke drivers.

On the way to work today in a keke, we noticed people gathering a car that has been in an accident and I didn’t really see the car but I knew it was a hyundai. Anyways it seems the car was taken to a mechanic for body work and from what the men in the Keke said, they were confident it was the mechanic that was driving the car. Apparently some (or most like they said) mechanics like to pose with people’s car in the night. They would take the car and go flexing (enjoying). Unfortunately this story doesn’t have a good ending, not only was the car totally bashed, I learnt later in the day that the mechanic and the lady in the passenger seat (the guys were right about mechanic taking out girls in people’s car) died and are in the hospital’s mortuary. Such a sad story but it just reminded me why God has not given me a car yet. I can’t imagine it being my car.. After saving to buy it then one mechanic would wreck it and the worst part he died too. Something go happen o!

Guess what? The doctors are on strike! Yep! Again! After 2 months of sitting at home doing nothing, they decided to go on strike again. Anybody out there thinks they remind you of spoilt brats! They remind me of children that are jealous of each other and want to be answered at all costs. Babies cry when they need something or are not given what they want; Doctors in Nigeria go on strike when others are advancing in their careers or they don't get more money. They deserve to be flogged! I have 2 questions to non medics who read my blog: 1. Who do you think is more qualified to run a laboratory, a medical lab scientist who has spent 5 years and 1 internship training or a doctor? 2. If another member of the healthcare team is called a consultant based on the definition of consultant in which it means and I quote from Encarta dictionary ‘an expert who charges a fee for providing advice or services in a particular field’, would it kill the patient?

I have about had it with this set of professionals! And if anybody doesn’t like what I write, you have 2 options: 1. Get a GPS or map and locate where you are on the map then locate the fastest route to the nearest river or ocean, then reach the banks of the river or ocean then drown YOURSELF! Or 2. Buy a good rope, google how to secure a knot, then tie the rope to a ceiling fan then hang yourself! I have a church mind that is why i didn't suggest some worse things! I have never seen!! My goodness!! I know it shouldn’t concern me so much about the decay that the doctors are causing to the healthcare system as I know I would soon leave it but it would be unfair of me not to be bothered for my colleagues who I would leave behind.

I have read what some of them say and I begin to wonder if it is actually doctors that are speaking or illiterates. I noticed I have lost all confidence in many doctors in Nigeria now, I see a prescription or hear them speak on a particular issue and all I can think of is ‘how much have they gotten to prescribe this or say that’. And it saddens me; this is not what I grew up to know. May God save them because with the way things are being spoken into their lives it is only God that can redeem them and I am positive I am going to be attacked soon and I don’t care. Attack me all you want but I am not interested! And none of you should give me any reason for your numerous strikes, majority of you deserve to be stripped of the M.B.B.S you have! I said the last time they went on strike that before the end of the year that they would have another strike, did I call it or what? Now I say this, their time is almost up! Things would begin to happen soon and when they look to others for help, it won’t be forthcoming. Mark my words, you all would say I told it like it is.

Then who told people that I would like to listen to Christmas hymns with effizy (drama)? I just listened to a lady sing ‘joy to the world and Noel’ with dramatic effects and I was totally not impressed! She probably has a nice voice but she ruined the songs for me. I want old fashioned carol singers’ Christmas hymns not effizified Christmas hymns o jare….lol

I had to fix a weave earlier than I planned because apparently harmattan is here and harmattan is cold/dry air. Cold/dry air = dry hair = serious breakage = retarded growth and the hair stylist billed me more than usually because Christmas is in the air. Funny I know in US and other countries, people usually have sales during the Christmas season, in Nigeria everything goes up. Balogun market would be a sorry state now. Warning! If you are pregnant don’t go to Balogun/Lagos Island market now. You could faint!! The crowd would be crazy and the prices outrageous.

Shippyme is looking for my trouble o. I was supposed to have received 2 packages yesterday, when I didn’t see anything I sent them a mail and you should read the mail they sent me. Something about airline saying they saw my packages and people on the ground not seeing it. Some hours after their reply they told me that my packages were on its way. So if I didn’t send the mail, my packages would have been lost in mid air. You see how they are looking for my trouble o. If I write another nasty review (which would be the truth) the CEO or whoever he is would say I want to put people out of their jobs. Hopefully this would be the last time I would have to use them, next time I need things by God’s Grace I would be physically making the purchase.

I see that my blog has been viewed over 13000 times, while I am grateful for all the views I am also sad. There are some adverts that are around my blog  and it can only be seen when you use a tablet, a laptop or desktop to view. And you need to click it for me to make money. I had spoken about it before. If 70% of people who viewed the blog 13000 times had clicked twice (don’t overdo it o or I get banned) at least I am sure I would have plenty money to buy my internet data which to me is all I need now cos buying data every 7 days is not easy for me considering I don’t have a steady source of second income. I know my readers are amazing guys so I expect to see some clicks per view….so click, click, click and help this gal run this blog smoothly….Thanks a lot *muah*

Okay, I think have rambled enough. I think I need to go. Thanks for checking out my blogs guys.

Luv ya,
Petite Diva

P.S: If I smell (not only see o), smell any nasty comment I would instantly delete it!
