3 ESSENTIAL OILS FOR FAST HAIR GROWTH

In some countries, oils are considered as one of the biggest secrets to long, thick and healthy hair. 

Several scientific studies suggest that certain oils actually boost hair growth. 

You just need to use them at the right concentration and in the right way.

There are two types of oils : Carrier oils and essential oils. 

Essential oils are great in treating specific hair issues.

They target scalp related issues and are usually very potent. 

Carrier oils are usually less concentrated than essential oils and are used to dilute essential oils to make it safer for body or hair use. 

Here are 3 essential oils that are great in boosting hair growth:

1. Peppermint oil: It is effective in increasing hair growth especially during the growing phase of the hair growth cycle.

It helps to increase blood flow to the scalp which may help strengthen the hair follicles. A research study showed that peppermint essential oil increased the number of hair follicles when applied on mice. 

How To Use:

Mix about 3 drops of peppermint oil with 2 tablespoons of any carrier oil of your choice.

Massage into your scalp and hair and leave it on for about 5 minutes.

Rinse off with shampoo and conditioner thoroughly.

2. Rosemary Essential Oil: Rosemary oil is effective in improving the thickness of the hair. It also aids in hair growth.

Some studies have suggested that rosemary essential oil is as effective as minoxidil which is commonly prescribed for alopecia to help regrow bald spots.

It was also stated that rosemary oil had fewer side-effects when compared to minoxidil.

How To Use:

Mix a few drops of rosemary oil with a carrier oil such as almond oil and apply to your scalp.

Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse off

completely with shampoo and conditioner.

NOTE: You can use this mixture as a scalp massage oil 2-3 times a week without washing it off. 

3. Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender

essential oil is said to be capable of

generating new skin cells that can boost hair growth. 

It has antibacterial properties that help to promote healthy and clean scalp, which is necessary to maintain healthy hair.

A study conducted on mice found that lavender essential oil helped enhance and speed up the hair growth process.

How To Use:

Mix a few drops of lavender essential oil with 3 tablespoons of a carrier oil such as Olive oil, then massage the mixture onto your scalp after spraying a moisture refresher to seal in the moisture and stimulate blood circulation to the hair follicles.

Essential oils are very strong and may cause allergic reactions if used in large amounts or without sufficient amount of carrier oils

LIFE UPDATE: LOST MY MUM ON 6TH DECEMBER 2018

Does anyone still read blogs? Hey Guys, it has been a loooooooonnnnnnggggg time. 

I am alive but my mum is not 😭😭😭. It is a long story but I don't want to cry a lot today so I will save the whole story for another time when I am strong. 

What have I been up to? I took a break from pharmacy and anything related to pharmacy and concentrated on my YouTube channel. My YouTube channel literally helped me keep sane throughout last year.

Now I have TWO YouTube channels (I don't know what makes me think I can handle two channels😭). Here are some videos from my first channel and the link is from my new baby channel.

Hey guys, I am back with another way for you to keep that hair on your head and even grow it….a lot. I have known about Apple cider vinegar for almost 5 years but I have not been faithfully using it. The first time I used it, my hair felt a bit dry because I didn’t use it the right way.

But first, what is Apple cider Vinegar (ACV)? Is it the same as the standard white vinegar? No, it is not. Apple cider vinegar is a type of vinegar that is made from cider or ‘apple must’ and has a pale to medium amber color. Some ACV contains the mother of the vinegar which is a cobweb-like appearance and looks congealed. This ACV is said to be the ‘unpasteurised/organic’ form.

ACV is made by crushing apples and squeezing the liquid out. Bacteria and yeast are added to the start the alcoholic fermentation process in which the sugars are turned into alcohol. The alcohol is converted into vinegar by acetic acid-forming bacteria.

There are various brands available such as Heinz, Braggs (which contains the mother and is quite expensive) and American Garden.

So BBC carried out an investigative piece on the scourge of codeine syrup epidemic in Nigeria and indicted some people/persons and people are having issues with the piece. Personally, I was super happy about it because it gave me evidence to back my hypothesis on the cause of this problem.

The genesis of this epidemic is from the pharmaceutical companies, pharmacy owners (who can be pharmacists, doctors, nurses or any healthcare worker or anybody with money), pharmacists/pharmacy assistants and pharmaceutical representatives. Yes! I said it. And I will say it again and again. Why did I say this? Let me give you all a back story… 

START ANYWAYS: THE STAN LEE REFERENCE

So I am a comics superhero movie fan. I looovvvveeeee Superman and no matter how many times I watch Lois and Clark: the adventures of superman, I never get tired. I didn’t follow Smallville when it aired because I was kinda of angry that Lois and Clark was discontinued and I didn’t understand all the Lana Lang angle but in the past couple of years, I have watched as much Youtube clips of Smallville that I can find online.

Wakanda Forever…. Yes, Black Panther….The latest rave among non superhero movie and superhero movie fans. There was so much hype around it that it was choking. I have watched and read so much reviews and editorials that I felt overwhelmed. Why? I didn’t want the marvel cinematic universe movies to be overshadowed by the overwhelming political and sub psychological context that people were placing on the movie. I have loved MCU movies since Robert Downey Jr starred as Iron Man. I watched some X-men movies till I got offended that Halle Berry was not cast as Storm. I watched the first Fantastic 4 movie (with Chris Evans now Captain America and Jessica Alba) and was mad as heck when they decided to do a reboot with Micheal B Jordan as invisible girl’s brother or so. Please don’t get me started….

STORY TIME: WHEN I ALMOST BECAME A SECOND WIFE

Hey Guys, so maybe my title is a teeny weeny bit dramatic but do you want to read about my story? I have heard you…You don’t have to beg me too much....lol.

So it has been a while since I had a boyfriend and when I went for my masters, I began to wonder if I am capable of feeling any attraction for anyone. All thanks to my epic disaster of relationships. Then one day at work, suddenly…a guy I had never met came into the scene. The boy was fiiiiiinnnnneeee as heck (Petite Diva the dramatic). He was cute. And for an unknown reason, he thought I was pretty (He needs glasses). He was my superior and once when I was struggling he came to help like a knight in a shining armour (as if that is not part of his job) and gave me a tip to make me more efficient but I put up a resistance and felt like I knew it all. But after a while, I found out that his advice worked (stubborn thing like me).

Any which way, we (in other words, I asked to be placed) found ourselves on the same shift but I was not always placed to work with him. However the thing (boy) always found a way to sneak in to say hi. I was swooning. It is not my fault. He made me smile and laugh. He was nice and such a playful thing and I enjoyed bullying him a bit.

But….The BIG but…..He was married. The day I found out was (I believe) a consequence of my discussion with God. You know how we ladies are. I had already started thinking of weddings and the works but I felt something was not quite okay. I think 2 days before I knew he was married, I had said a prayer that I saw on Instagram about having your own God designed relationship or something like that. Then Boom! I find out he is married. I was bummed, I won’t lie. For weekssss….

How did I find out? I overheard a conversation that was none of my business. I am beginning to think that people were gossiping about us and the guy purposely came to talk to him when he was close to me. He was standing close to me and this guy comes up to ask ‘How is your Mrs?’ and I was like ‘what in the world?’. I thought that I didn’t hear well but Ladies and Gentlemen, I did o. I did. And to further prove my theory that there must have been gossip about us (because I still remember one weird look I got from an elderly guy when I was teasing him during one if our lunch break) , I noticed some ladies speaking in hush tones close to me (and I believe I saw one of them look in my direction or so).

Then it so happened that I sat with one of the ladies who now told me that he was married and had 3 boys. That was it! I was scattered. I knew that my ears were like ‘dodo the cartoon character’. It has super hearing abilities like superman. I had heard right the first time.

I had to try to shake off the sad feeling but is that ever easy? I had to behave like a big girl and get on at work like nothing happened. It was not his fault, right? And the thing kept on being his goody self. I remember the day I was feeling so emotional and he was his playful self, I forgot he was my superior and snapped at him. The guy was totally taken aback because I shut him down in front of people (I think 2 or so). But he came and stylishly met me and asked ‘what is wrong with you?’. I told him PMS and he almost ran away. He was shocked that I said such. It was funny the way he reacted.

I tried to be not so smiley at him but whenever we had an encounter it was impossible. I was either teasing him or he was teasing me or people around me were teasing him. While I was trying to patch my heart together, some people kept trying to break it again. I remember that one of my work circle once said to me that we (the guy and I) look good together that if not because he was married that she would have loved us to get together. And I was like ‘what the heck?’. Then another day, we (the guy, myself and some people in my work circle) were talking. Someone asked how many children he had? And I said ‘three…three boys’. I then opened my mouth to say ‘you need a girl’. That is how one person actually repeated the words to him and just had to say ‘maybe she would be the one to give you the girl’. The boy ran away immediately and I attempted to be 'all I don’t do second wife things'. Ta! I was trying to act like I was not bothered.

The truth is when I sat down to think about it, if It was an option to me at the time when I was really feeling him, I would have accepted the offer of being a second wife which is really ridiculous to me considering I am an alpha female. I hate to share my man but you see this thing called attraction abi is it ‘Lust’, it is very dangerous. It can make you do and undo.

How can you overcome it or know when what you feel is right or wrong? I don’t know. I guess all you can do is Pray. Ask God to reveal the whole situation or part of the true situation to you and give you the strength to walk away. I didn’t have the strength to walk away or stop my feelings especially when even on my last day there, someone who I think had no idea about us openly said ‘He likes you na’. Back story to this statement…I was reporting the guy to him. I told him that he was teasing me about my height and he made that statement. We (the guy and I) were both speechless for a few seconds. I gained my senses and made a protest and he repeated it again and my guy couldn’t say anything. The boy just stood there.

Oh well, I had to leave and I am back home and my senses are back or are they really back? I guess I might never know.

I hope you liked this story time post. I realised that it had been a long time since I did an honest post about my life. Hope you don’t sit there, sipping your tea and are judging me like Judge Judy…lol. It has happened  to  the best of us.

Help! I have a swollen upper lip. I ate something and now I am reacting to it. I have taken an antihistamine and I am eagerly waiting for the lip to return back to normal.
