THE LOST NIGERIAN BOY AND THE RANDY ARABIAN GUY….MY RUN INS

Okay so which story should I write first, the lost boy or the randy guy. Maybe I shouldn’t call him randy, maybe I should say the 'confused overly sexual thinking' man. Anyway since I met the lost boy first, I would start with that story.

I met the lost boy when I went to Abu Dhabi at the Marina mall. I came out of the ladies and saw one slim boy looking like a typical ‘I want to be cool ‘ by force’ (God forgive me for that description but that is what I felt he looked liked) talking on the phone and I passed by him. Only for me to hear ‘hello’ and I was like ‘he cannot be talking to me’. Then he started saying how it is rare to see a black, that I might be his sister and blah blah. When he was talking I just had a feeling he was Nigerian. Then he asked me if I was Nigerian and I said ‘Mo gbe!’. Who is this boy o? I tried not to answer him so that he wouldn’t guess from my accent that I was Nigerian. I ran to the Big Bus tour guys to see if I could stay there and throw him off but I was told the bus would arrive in about 2 hours time from when I came. And I couldn’t wait outside (that place is hot, darn too hot!) so I went inside and decided to sit on one of the benches near a fountain only for me to see the boy following me. I quickly sat down near some guys thinking that the presence of the guys would scare him off.

But nooo way, this boy sat down beside me. I told him that I am not interested in what he had to say. It was obvious that he was up to no good and I couldn’t afford to listen to what tales he wanted to say. Another person might have listened just to hear his story but you all know me, I lack patience for nonsense. I threatened to call the security and I made a statement in Yoruba and that is when he knew I was Yoruba and Nigerian. He said something in Yoruba and repeatedly asked for my name which I didn’t give. After trying to ward him off and he wouldn’t burge I decided to completely ignore him. He started saying that next time I came I should ask for a ‘something’ manager(can’t remember what exactly it was). I got fed up and got up and decided to window shop. Lo and behold I looked back and saw him following me again, calling me ‘gorgeous’. That was when I got scared. I started searching for a security man because I was afraid he was going to harm me. Luckily for me, he stopped following me and it was almost time to go back to Dubai. I decided to wait outside with the other members of my tour group and that was how I escaped.

It was obvious the boy is one of those who travel and disappear. They have no papers and can’t get good jobs and either try to latch on to Nigerian tourists and act as their unofficial guides for some change or dupe people. Unfortunately I can’t deal with such people because I need to protect myself in case anything goes wrong. I wonder how they survive. I think he is just lost and needs someone to advise him that he needs to come home.

So next story, Overly sexually thinking Arabian man run in. Like I said in my last post, I met him when I went to the beach. I was taking pictures and noticed a white car slow down. I actually thought that it was because of the bump on the road. He then said ‘hello’ and asked if he could get my number. I smiled and laughed, thinking he was joking. I continued what I was doing only for me to see him turn around and park and call me again. I told him I don’t live in Dubai. He asked if I came alone and I said yes. He asked for my number and I told him I have only my Nigerian number (I opted for roaming services which was a very big mistake. I am never trying it again!). He gave me his card and I had to leave him because the bus had arrived. As I was settling in, I noticed that he had called my number.

When I arrived at the hotel, I decided to do a back ground check on him via facebook. I am no crime investigation agent but nowadays you can get some information about people on the internet. The first red flag I had was when I couldn’t find him or anything on him. I tried to check the website of the card he gave me which claimed he was the PRO and that was another red flag. The card said the company was a restaurant managing one but the website was a racing car one. I was totally confused. Then he sent a voice note on whatsapp and suggested I tell him where I was staying, that he would come to pick me up and we would go out. I thought that it was a terrible idea and lied that I was meeting a friend’s sister. That we should meet at the beach (an open space) in the morning or afternoon the next day. The guy said no, that because of his job *eyes rolling* he couldn’t meet me at that time. That we should meet in the evening around 6pm, that he would come and pick me up from my hotel.

So I thought I need to take control of this, there was no way I was going to the beach in the evening. A beach that was far from the hotel and in a country that I am visiting and with a guy I don’t know. So I suggested that he meet me at a KFC restaurant near where I stayed. I figured we could talk there (I am so naïve, I actually thought he wanted to talk) and If things got screwed up I could easily run back to the hotel.

The moment I knew his intentions were not pure was when he kept insisting on us going somewhere. I didn’t get it until it finally dawned on me that he was up to something. He said he can’t stay at the restaurant and then it clicked ‘this guy is up to no good’. Unfortunately for him, I ain’t that kind of person. If I knew how to fight kungfu or any martial art, I would probably have gone with him to teach him a lesson. If he had started anything I would have crippled him then given him a lecture in how to treat women and how to protect himself from STI’S. Can you imagine? Someone you don’t know. And I was not putting my goodies out there like a prostitute! A friend let me know that Arabian men are usually like that but I have refused to believe it. I won’t let this experience make me biased. I always preach personality over race or tribe. Hopefully I won’t meet another Arabian like that.

So that is all for now guys. Hope you enjoyed this post. Please watch out for my ‘I rep’ post. I would put up services and places that I used on this adventure and where you can contact them. It is not a paid post but I think most of the services and places I went to where really cool so hey, I decided to give them a shout out on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

Luv ya,
Petite Diva.

    1. I am not biased. You dress the way you want to be addressed. Your pants cannot be hanging on your butt and you think i would be interested. The arabian guy appeared responsible and he did have a business card so it deceived me in thinking he was sane. I don't do hippies or sexually overly thinking guys and as you read that when i knew what the arabian man was up to, i ran away as fast as i could too. I think i have explained myself. So it was not a matter of race but appearance and mannerism.

  3. Lol... I concur with anonymous 9.32pm. Why were you willing to give the Arabian guy a chance and not the naija guy? Also why give the Arabian guy your contact details at all? Those guys only want one thing from black chics.. and our babes are always ready to drop. If i were in your situation men I'll be too scared those Arab guys can do and undo and end up going scot free

    1. Why is it that i am the last one to know about their behaviour? He appeared responsible. Oh! Maybe that is why one of them at the beach also was really staring at me in a very naughty manner. Guess God saved me that i was sensitive and quickly knew what he was up to. What would i have told my parents ehen? And as i explained to the other person that left a comment, if you had seen the Nigerian boy you would understand. And it was so obvious he was up to no good!

    1. What?! Are you kidding me? Na wa for our people o. Is it a few dirhams that has made them lose their dignity? They must have shown the agent something. I literally just shut the guy's mouth yesterday when he had tried to start something again thinking i was still in Dubai. God forgive me o but how can someone who doesn't even know my name be missing me. For where na? I had to bring him down sharply. I am sure he has lost my number.....haha.
Thanks for stopping by, i would be sure to check yours.
